PTR (Paid To Read) Is it worthwhile to the clicker?
I have tried PTR to earn a bit of extra cash several times and now have given it up. Why? Partly because I got fed up with it and mainly because the amount earned did not justify the time spent clicking.
PTR sites come and go mainly because they start off in a rush then slowly die. Some PTR sites offer ridiculously low pay for each click. I have seen $0.001 and even less. $0.001 paid per read would mean that one would have to click 1000 sites to make one dollar. If we had to view one site for 20 seconds this would mean that it would take over 5.5 hours to make one dollar. Some of these sites stipulate that they will not pay until you have earned a certain amount. Some of these have been set at a ridiculously high level. I have seen one site at $50.
Of course, they entice you to start by saying “we will give you $10 bonus if you sign up”. Well the above example would mean that you would have to read 8 hours a day for 27 days to reach the $50 level. Extortion wages I call it.
What about the new style of getting paid to read. Clixsense is a prime example. This is the last one I tried and will be the last one I will do. You are paid to read other peoples ads. The lowest you can get paid is 1 cent and the highest I don’t know but I have had a 20 cent one and several 3 and 2 cent and even a 7 cent one.
I joined as a free member and was getting a few pennies. It did say that if I was a premium member that there was over 500 ads waiting to be clicked. Pay $10 and then you will be able to read them. So like a mug I did. When I became a premium member how many were there. 288.
Well never mind I thought. I went through them and amassed over $4 in quick time. Then things slowed down to a crawl. I had thought that because there were a lot of initial ads that fresh ones were coming in all the time at a good rate.
Then I realised that this is where the problems with this sort of ptr really starts to hurt. You have to keep refreshing the PTR site to catch the new ads. You could keep refreshing for an hour and not get a new ad. If you left it for a while and there were new ads in that period it was more than likely that the number of clicks bought for that ad had expired.
What I think will happen is that members will slowly drop off, ads available may increase because of this but decreased membership means decreased clickthru so advertisers will start dropping off and bingo another one goes.
I will stay with this until I get my $10 back (If Clicksense lasts that long) and then that’s it.
Well in conclusion. Do you think PTR’s are worthwhile. Not I think for the “Work from Home” type of business.
This is one reason I joined “The Million Dollar Blueprint” Because my time will be better spent.
